It’s been a minute since we last talked. It’s been a hard year for everyone and I just wanted to thank you for being there and the continued support.
It's been a while since my last issue of Thor and just in case you’ve been curious what I’ve been up to here is the coles note version.
After I was done my run on Thor, I had eye surgery. I couldn’t look at a screen for a couple of weeks, so I got a nice break with the family. Now I have bionic eyes.
I was lucky enough to work with Jeff Lemire on the Immortal Hulk. Working with Jeff was amazing and I hope we get to work together in the future.
I was very fortunate to work with Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist on a crazy comic called Alfredo. It was a lot of fun and it was really nice to get to help write a comic in addition to drawing it. Alfredo was nominated for album of the year and the Alchemist did his own spin on the album.
Kevin Feige said that The Visions covers inspired WandaVision. Crazy.
I am working on some new things including Spawn with Todd McFarlane. I am very fortunate and I can’t wait to show you some pages.
I’ve been working on variant covers for Marvel & Boom, so keep an eye on my Instagram or website for updates.
We had our first drop on my store and a lot of people showed up and gave us their support and we thank you for that. The response was unbelievable and we can’t wait to give you more. Keep your eyes peeled.
I have a lot of ideas for 2021, so I am going to need your help figuring out where to focus my attention. What interests you the most? Here’s a few things I had in mind:
A large, thick hard cover art book sharing my work through the decade. Is a sketchbook of unfinished art or process work be interesting or a reprint of all my cover work?
Creator owned book.
More prints.
Let me know below in the comments and we’ll talk about the result of your comments in the next issue.
Thank you again for being here,
Mike
definitely a quality hardcover art book. i understand that it can get expensive to produce, but its really unfortunate to see a lot of artists in the industry not publish a book with their own work. i would love to add a copy to my library.
Hardcover art book! I think I've been suggesting that for a couple of years now...
