Mystique and the photo-copier. All-time fave.

I think it would be cool to do volumes and just start at the beginning. Cover 1 thru whatever in volume 1, then so on. We're all here for Mike's art, so I think having all the marvel covers would be dope

I have way too many favourites so I'll stick to ones I'm trying to hunt down now. The X-Men Legacy covers are amazing. (Especially 11&13). Red Wolf #1 Hip Hop Variant, Spiderpunk 1, Ultimate Spiderman 3, Star Wars: Darth Vader. To be honest I'm going to end up all listing all of his marvel works so I'll stop there. Straight 🔥. Looking forward to the artbook.

PS I love process artwork. Especially seeing early rough concepts for art but I would also love all the X-Men Legacy covers in the book without the trade dress!

I have my favorites - maybe group them by character; then covers with multiple characters transitions into the next character? You’d have hundreds of books in no time! Anything Fantastic #4 tops my list but the Tribe Called Quest Spiderman is also way up in my list.

It's so hard to pick a favourite - Mike is a true genius in my opinion and never fails to amaze me but I have a special love for the Spider Man / Tribe called Quest hip hop cover. Combines my favourite comics character with my favourite rap artists!

To the question of which DC characters Mike should draw next, I think the new Metamorpho series is a perfect opportunity for Mike's particular type of artistic ingenuity.

Gonna be real here; I am a BIG fan. Been hunting your work for a while and can honestly say I have MOST of my favourite stuff from you (but let's be honest, the best is yet to come!) Spent the day browsing through some extensive databases trying to nail down 30 of my favourite Marvel covers/works from you, and here is my list in alphabetical order! I will put a star next to everything I own currently if you feel like keeping track:

3-4) Carnage #9 & #10

5) Death of The Inhumans #5 Young Guns Variant*

27-30) X-Men Legacy #4, #5*, #6, & #11

Question: there is a distinguishable difference in your use of colour coming out of 2021 into our more modern stuff. Is that signified mostly by the departure of Marco D'Alfonso as a regular collaborator, or more of a personal evolution/preference?

Finally, I'd love to see you get your hands on some of the mystical DC users, the GL Corps, JSA, and even your own Elseworlds project!

Appreciate this list and the passion Rory. Mike said it's a personal evolution (he said he would comment). Marco doing big things, so be sure to check him out https://www.instagram.com/m7781/ but they will get the band back together again. Thanks again for your reply and support - Jason

Can you pick a favourite cover?

Definitely the Ultikate X men covers, any guardians of rhe galaxy ones, anything with nightcrawler on it XD

Fantastic Four Road Trip #1 is so cool because it’s completely original and was executed perfectly. As well, you can pick and of the hiphop covers and you’ll nail it. The Elektra series was hit after hit, too.

If you had to pick one hip hop cover and one Elektra cover?

Though I love the Method Man/Red Wolf, there’s no denying the brilliance of the Tribe/Spidey cover. That’s gotta be the best of all the hip hop covers by anyone. Elektra #6 is probably the best to me right now, but I could be swayed. In looking them up, I also came across that amazing Bucky Barnes #6 cover, too.

How do you choose just one or two. This is a great rabbit hole to fall down.

Bullseye playing curling (all time fav) and Mystique playing with the photocopier. Both absolutely.

The Loki cover for Doctor Strange #381, too.

All the process artwork possible, please. Process-junkies never get enough of the good stuff.

I am sooo stoked for this! I’ve been wanting this for years! Mike is one of my favourite artists (I even created a fb fan page!) I’m a huge art book collector and have hundreds of them. I much prefer a variety of work and lots of rough art with text documenting the process and art journey.

I know Mike is mostly known for his cover work, but what I love most is the cinematic quality of his sequential work — it’s really unrivalled in many ways!! I would so love to see a ton of that incorporated if possible, and what his process is like for creating a page.

If I could choose one art book as the pinnacle of the form, imo, it would be Ross Tran’s Nima. The graphic design, variety of work, amount of text, length, and physical quality are all top tier!
